Onyeka Nwelue is a Nigerian filmmaker, writer, and professor. He’s known for his work in promoting African culture and storytelling has disclosed that his second kidney is failing him.
The 37 years scholar who just celebrated his birthday on January 31st in series of post made on his X handle shows that his time to leave the world is near.
On his birthday post, he stated “Tomorrow is my 37th birthday. Grateful to live with my mother. My grandfather died of diabetes and after 17 years of writhing in pain and spending money, my father died of diabetes.
Two years ago, I was diagnosed with diabetes. Lots of times, I have thought of ways to end it. This is a disease that is more dangerous than HIV.
The problem with inherited sickness like this, is that no matter what you do, you will still die from it.
However, the scholar revealed a shocking message to his fans revealing his, “I have been living on one kidney for a long time and now, the only kidney remaining is infested.
I have been in the hospital for over 5 days now and only family and close friends know. However, there are people who think I am avoiding them. Thought they should know.
My death won’t be a ‘secret affair.”
In more posts on his X timeline, he called out some people who believes are not in good term with him which includes El rufai.
“On Saturday, while I was in Emergency in hospital, out of the blues, Professor Wole Soyinka called my friend’s phone number and said he wanted to speak to me. As soon as he heard my voice, he asked: “What is wrong?” I told him about my only kidney dying away.
For two years, I have tried to reach El Rufai (who is not a Nobel Laureate), to understand what I did to him, but I could not reach him. Tried reaching his children and people close to him. He was after @DavidHundeyin. Instead of focusing on David, he destroyed a career of mine that took me many years to build.
I am making this post to let everyone know that Mr. El Rufai is one of the people who caused my death. Do whatever you may with it.
